Here are some pictures of my first trip to Cali in 1984.
I was riding for Brand X and Independent at the time. I
remember the pool being so small and kinked...I couldn't
believe how much these guys were ripping. We skated some other crummy ramps, slept outside the Del Mar parking lot and reconfirmed our "west coast sucks" attitudes. The only cool thing that happened was; At Brand X, Bernie(the owner), needed some boards that were ridden for something or another so, we skated a new board every day and gave them to him. A few months later we saw them hanging up in the Daggers house in the movie "Thrashin'"!! too funny....
